Anxiety Therapy With Me
For anxiety therapy, I use a variety of evidence backed methodologies – think of these like “frameworks” for the work we’d do in therapy
-
An evidence based treatment to address rumination and worry. Maybe you feel like your anxiety jumps from topic to topic? Rather than looking at what you are worried about, we look at how you are thinking to address the root cause of anxiety and panic.
-
Helps bring acceptance and willingness to difficult experiences and turn towards values as a way of navigating life’s challenges.
-
A type of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) where people slowly face situations or objects that make them anxious. This helps you realize these fears aren't dangerous, reducing your anxiety in those situations.
My Anxiety Therapy Isn’t Just “Breathe and Think Positive”
With therapy, we’ll:
Take a look at what you are actually afraid of. Often this is deeper than what is presented superficially and that distinction is critical
Create both a mental (attitude) and behavioral (exposures) roadmap to recovery
Address rumination and worry and improve attentional focus so that you master your mind
Clarify your values and goals and focus on moving in that direction independent of difficult thoughts and emotions
Address any distortions that lead to perfectionism
Give you all the tools you need to eventually end anxiety therapy and handle your life stressors and anxiety on your own
